It seems surprising that the festival season has gone so quickly this year. Not so surprisingly, I've been super busy traveling, mounting a couple off-season exhibitions (more about that in a bit) and creating new work. I'm so very thankful that I have the opportunity to do what I love, and to meet and interact with each of you. As the year winds down, it's a great time to reflect on triumphs past and on challenges yet to come. Thank you so much for coming to my shows and for supporting my work! I really could not do this if it weren't for each and every one of you. State of MInd Gallery (no, that's not a typo!)Back in July, I met a fellow artist at the Ann Arbor show who asked me if I'd be interested in showing my work at a new gallery during the fall season. Long story short, I thought she had a great idea, and my work is now part of a super gallery in Novi, Michigan called "State of MInd". A couple of my large gallery wraps are hanging in the front window, as well as other images from the West and Michigan. You can find my framed work in 11x14, 16x20 and a few 30x40 pieces, as well as a selection of matted prints. State of MInd is a co-op gallery, with over 40 Michigan artists, and features some wonderful work in glass, fiber, ceramics, photography, painting and other hand-made items. If you haven't been there yet, you owe it to yourself to drop by and have a look. Most pieces are very affordable, and it's a great place to shop for holiday gifts. Special Friend of the Artist DiscountI'll be working at the gallery on Black Friday (the day after Thanksgiving), and on December 15, 22 and 28th. It's in the Twelve Oaks Mall on Novi Road, on the second level just outside Macy's. The gallery is slated to remain open until the end of January. Bring this email with you on one of the days when I'm working, for an extra 15% discount on any of my work on display there. (The discount isn't good for web orders -- sorry.)
A Disappearing Agrarian Landscape Appears AgainSeveral of the key images from my series "A Disappearing Agrarian Landscape" are hanging at the Michael Susanne Salon in Ann Arbor. As a special bonus, two never-before published images from Paris are also displayed in the shop. Michael Whiting, a good friend of ours, asked if I would be willing to display some of my black and white work in his salon for a few months, and I agreed. The work looks elegant in the space, and is a great way for me to keep a few pieces out of storage until the winter show season kicks in in February. They are available for viewing during salon hours: Mon 11–8, Tu–Th 10–8, Fri 10–6, Sat 10–3, and can be purchased at the salon. Find Michael Susanne Salon at http://www.michaelsusanne.com -- their address is 303 Detroit Street, Suite 104, Ann Arbor MI, 48104.
